XIII Congress of Hydrogeology ALHSUD 2016
August 22, 2016 - August 27, 2016
The Latin American Association of Hydrogeology for development ALHSUD invites its XIII Congress of Hydrogeology 2016 and in coordination with the Geohydrological Association Mexicana AGM, and the International Association of Hydrogeologists IAH / IAH (Chapter Mexico), invite the I Mexican Congress of Hydrogeology.
The Latin American Association of Hydrogeology for Development (ALHSUD), begins its second 25 years of life and in his role of uniting efforts and experiences among professionals dedicated to underground water resources, congregating scientists, professionals, technicians and entities interested in the research study and management of groundwater resources, has a great motivation for our people through their hydrogeologists join our next Congress of Hydrogeology ALHSUD, 2016, to be held this time between 22 and 26 August in the Mexican city Merida, Yucatan, located on the peninsula of the same name, famous as a high development carbonated monoclinal Kárstico.
This conference will be a forum for the exchange of ideas, experiences and technical knowledge through studies, research and activities related to the present and future of our greatest natural wealth applications: groundwater.
The increasing demand for groundwater resources, combined with the impacts of recent climate variability and environmental pollution, poses the challenge to protect and exploit this resource in a responsible and sustainable over time, in order to ensure a future for generations to come.
In this scenario Latin America, which has one of the largest underground resources of the planet will have the challenge of proposing alternatives that serve to benefit both the community it represents, as an example for other countries.
We will have presentations of normativities and legislation being analyzed and others that have been imposed on our Latin American countries. Find the best opportunity to learn about successes and failures on laws were issued to regulate and manage groundwater. Including Uruguay with its freshly applied, Chile discussed the Water Code, Colombia with the recently introduced National Plan Groundwater (PNASUB), Mexico with the discussion of the General Law of National Waters returned to congressional committees the law state, etc.
IAH is actively involved with programs that provide a valuable forum for scientists and engineers who have a broad interest in global perspectives on groundwater resources and hydrogeological issues.
USNC Meetings
The USNC is affiliated with the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) and the Geological Society of America (GSA), as these organizations also have international groundwater science interests. The USNC holds meetings at annual events of these other organizations to encourage networking among USNC members and others who are interested in promoting international cooperation among hydrogeologists and others with an interest in groundwater. The USNC meets in the spring at the NGWA Ground Water Summit and in the fall at the GSA Annual Conference.
Check the USNC newsletter for meeting day and time announcements. Alternatively, check the onsite conference program or contact Jim Lamoreaux, Chair, at jlamoreaux@pela.com for meeting information.
